Celine Dion "Destin" (Celine: La Tournée Mondiale Taking Chances: Le Spectacle (DVD/CD 2010)

Destin

Je sais me défendre, j'ai bien appris

Britney Spears wants to collaborate with Celine Dion. Duet in sight?

Interviewed by an Australian TV Britney Spears has confirmed that to hear the new album will have to wait some time, "Well, this is in the pipeline at the moment. I'm taking one day at a time. This is the longest series of shows in Las Vegas I've been doing lately. I will make a two-week break, then come back to work. "And among the collaborations of her dreams? Gwen Stefani (because it was her neighbor and is 'cool'), Miley Cyrus, Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. Can she fulfill these "forbidden dreams"?

Celine Dion "Et s'il n'en restait qu'une (je serais celle-là)" (Celine: La Tournée Mondiale Taking Chances: Le Spectacle (DVD/CD 2010)

Et s'il n'en restait qu'une (je serais celle-là)
S'il n'en restait qu'une
Pour jouer son bonheur
Et miser sa fortune
Sur le rouge du coeur

Pour accepter les larmes
Accepter nuit et jour
De se livrer sans armes
Aux griffes de l'amour

S'il n'en restait qu'une
À n'être pas blasée
Et pleurer pour deux thunes
Sur un vieux canapé

Oui s'il n'en restait qu'une
Pour l'amour cinéma
Oui s'il n'en restait qu'une
Je serais celle-là

S'il n'en restait qu'une
Pour aller bravement
Rêver au clair de lune
Aux bras de son amant

Et pour avoir l'audace
De confier en été
À l'étoile, qui passe
Des voeux d'éternité

S'il n'en restait qu'une
Pour bêtement tracer
Sur le sable des dunes
Deux coeurs entrelacés

Oui s'il n'en restait qu'une
Pour l'amour grand format
Oui s'il n'en restait qu'une
Je serais celle-là

Et s'il n'en restait qu'une
Pour oser affirmer
Qu'il n'est pire infortune
Que de ne pas aimer

De suivre au bout du monde
Sans question sans contrat
Je serais celle-là

Et s'il n'en restait qu'une
Pour envier le manège
Pour les uns et les unes
Et puis toujours se piègent

Pour envier leurs folies
Leurs excès, leurs tracas
Je serais celle-là

Je serais celle-là

Et s'il n'en restait qu'une
Pour chercher sans pudeur
Une épaule opportune
Où cacher son bonheur

Et s'il n'en restait qu'une
Pour l'amour à tout va
Oui s'il n'en restait qu'une
Je serais celle-là

Celine Dion : Eurovision Milestones: 1988

The Eurovision Song Contest 1988 was the 33rd edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. The contest took place on 30 April 1988 in Dublin, Ireland, following the country's win at the previous 1987 edition. The presenters were Pat Kenny and Michelle Rocca.

The host broadcaster was Radio Telefís Éireann (RTÉ) which revamped the show's production style compared to its earlier editions, in order to appeal to a younger audience.

The winner was Switzerland with the song "Ne partez pas sans moi", performed by future international superstar Celine Dion and composed by Atilla Şereftuğ with lyrics in French by Nella Martinetti.

Twenty-one countries took part, after an initial plan of twenty-two, as Cyprus withdrew its already registered entry for breaching the contest's rules by being published few years earlier,
in an attempt to represent the country at a prior edition of the contest.

Celine Dion : Eurovision Memory "Ne partez pas sans moi"1988

The Swiss Eurovision team celebrating the victory, from left to right: Atilla Şereftuğ, lyricist Nella Martinetti, and Céline Dion

“As I mentioned before, we had prepared a backing tape which included bass, drums, and the computerised sounds prepared by Donald Häfliger’s Atari. Donald went with us to mime the keyboards on stage, whilst two old friends from the Dorados band – Walter Parolo and Bruno Schwarz – took care of the bass and percussion parts. Bruno and Walti, who both died quite young unfortunately, enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the Eurovision Song Contest to the full. The rehearsals were far easier than two years before in Bergen. The Irish orchestra was excellent. Up to the moment she arrived in Dublin, Céline did not have an idea of what was awaiting her. It was only when she saw the giant stage – so tierisch gross! – that she realized she was about to be part of something really important.”

“Céline was in Lausanne too and performed her new song, ‘Where does my heart beat now’. I had also submitted two songs for Céline’s new album, but her American producer David Foster said he did not need any European intervention. There is no getting into this American mafia! It took quite a long time before Céline became successful internationally with her English hits, but it was probably inevitable that she would be a world star. To my mind, the Eurovision Song Contest was the trampoline she needed. After her victory in Dublin, René Angelil managed to increase the budget for her recording project from 250,000 dollar to over one million dollar – and all of this because of the Eurovision win! René, a very clever guy, had invited the boss of Céline’s American record company to Dublin, who was obviously very impressed by her winning the event, and managed to bargain a better prize for her there and then.”

“Many, many years later, Céline gave a concert in Genève. It was in 2008. I called Urs Peter Keller, asking if he could arrange for me to meet Céline during rehearsals – which he did. I went there with two of my friends from the recording studio, but I was the only one of the three of us who was allowed into the concert hall. While Céline was doing an excellent, professional sound check without any of the impossible behaviour you would expect from a diva, I sat down on row five, in the dark. Once she had noticed there was someone in the hall, she came to the edge of the stage to check who it was – and she recognized me: “Atilla, is it really you?” We exchanged a couple of words, and I told her I had brought two friends who wanted to meet her too. The three of us were guided backstage, where Céline kissed me and then embraced me for some two minutes… she did not let go of me! Though I was a little embarrassed at that time, I later realized this was her way of saying ‘thank you’… after all those years without being in touch. She told me about her life, of travelling from one concert to the other, from one airport to the other, without the opportunity to watch television or reading a newspaper. That is the downside of stardom!”

Celine Dion offers advice to Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez

Superstar songstress Celine Dion turned heads appearing at Sunday’s 2015 Billboard Music Awards at MGM Grand Garden Arena, but it won’t be until June 13 that she’ll sing for the first time back here joining Andrea Bocelli for the Keep Memory Alive gala again at MGM Grand.

Celine hasn’t yet had time to see Mariah Carey’s headliner residency, “Mariah #1 to Infinity,” filling in during her absence from the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

But she has advice for the fellow superstar, who performed at Sunday’s Billboards for the first time in 17 years, and Jennifer Lopez, who starts across the Strip at Axis at Planet Hollywood, the home of Britney Spears’ “Britney: Piece of Me,” on Jan. 20 (our Q+A with J.Lo was posted Tuesday night); J.Lo was a presenter at the Billboards on Sunday:

“They’ve been in the business as long as me, so they know what to do. But they must pay special attention to the desert climate here. It’s very difficult on the organs. They must keep their nose very moist with cans of saline.

“You just have to have as much humidity as possible. They must have a built-in humidifier system onstage and at home. I’m very positive about them being here.”

She added: “Performing in Las Vegas gives us the chance to be special every night. I’m very positive about living here — it’s the best place as an artist and as a mom, so I would tell them to have as much love and fun as I have had.

“I had to take the break because (husband and former manager) Rene (Angelil) was being a champ. He’s doing wonderful and working hard on his health and happiness. He’s part of every production meeting as we get ready to premiere on Aug. 27.

“There will be about a 30 to 40 percent change in the show. I can’t wait to get started again. Rene and I have been an amazing team all our lives, and we are still together needing each other.”

Celine Dion " Have You Ever Been In Love"( VH1 Divas Duets: A Concert to Benefit Save The Music Foundation May 22, 2003)

In May 22,2003 . Celine Dion performed the song "Have You Ever Been In Love" during the 'VH1 Divas Duets' concert at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The show benefited the nonprofit VH1 Save the Music Foundation.

Have You Ever Been In Love
Have you ever been in love
You could touch the moonlight
When your heart is shooting stars
You're holding heaven in your arms
Have you ever been in love?
Have you ever walked on air, ever
Felt like you were dreamin'
When you never thought it could
But it really feels that good
Have you ever been in love?
Have you ever been in love
You could touch the moonlight
When your heart is shooting stars
You're holding heaven in your arms
Have you ever been in love?
The time I spent waiting for something
That was heaven sent
When you find it don't let go
I know...
Have you ever said a prayer
And found that it was answered
All my hope has been restored
I ain't looking anymore
Have you ever been...
Some place that you ain't leavin'
Somewhere you gonna stay
When you finally found the meanin'
Have you ever felt this way?
The time I spent waiting for something
That was heaven sent
When you find it don't let go
I know...
Have you ever been in love
You could touch the moonlight
You can even reach the stars
Doesn't matter near or far
Have you ever been in love?
Have you ever been in love?
So in love

River Deep, Mountain High
When I was a little girl
I had a rag doll
Only doll I've ever owned
Now I love you just the way I loved that rag doll
But only now my love has grown

And it gets stronger, in every way
And it gets deeper, let me say
And it gets higher, day by day

And do I love you my oh my
Yeh river deep mountain high
If I lost you would I cry
Oh how I love you baby, baby, baby, baby

When you were a young boy
Did you have a puppy
That always followed you around
Well I'm gonna be as faithful as that puppy
No I'll never let you down

Cause it grows stronger, like a river flows
And it gets bigger baby, and heaven knows
And it gets sweeter baby, as it grows

And do I love you my oh my
Yeh river deep, mountain high
If I lost you would I cry
Oh how I love you baby, baby, baby, baby

I love you baby like a flower loves the spring
And I love you baby just like Tina loves to sing
And I love you baby like a school boy loves his pet
And I love you baby, river deep mountain high
Oh yeah you've gotta believe me
River Deep, Mountain High
Do I love you my oh my, oh baby
River deep, mountain high
If I lost you would I cry
Oh how I love you baby, baby, baby, baby
