Celine Dion "Play Without Pain: Children's Sickle Cell Benefit" January,15 2012





"As a mother, I was incredibly moved by the stories that were shared with me regarding the impact this disease has on children," said Dion. "Participating in this benefit is a way in which I can get involved to positively touch these children’s lives. The funds we raise will enable doctors to complete their important research that will allow these children to grow up pain-free and lead longer, more productive lives." - Celine Dion

More than $1 million was raised in support of the research of doctors at Children's Hospital Boston in securing a cure for sickle cell disease Jan. 15 during the "Play Without Pain: Children's Sickle Cell Benefit," a partnership with international singer Celine Dion, Caesars Entertainment, AEG Live and Children's Hospital Boston.

Held at Caesars Palace, the Company said that the evening included a performance of Celine Dion's glamorous show directed by Grammy Awards producer Ken Ehrlich, including a touching tribute to sickle cell victims during her rendition of Billy Joel's "Lullabye."
