May is Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month. Celine, who is the National
Celebrity Patron for Cystic Fibrosis Canada, recently taped a video
message about the importance of cystic fibrosis newborn screening.
Cystic fibrosis is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting
Canadian children and young adults. Newborn CF screening is now a
standard in many countries and in certain Canadian provinces except for
Newfoundland & Labrador, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward
Island that still do not screen for this disease. Celine joins Cystic Fibrosis Canada in urging families to call on their provincial legislators to commit to newborn screening for cystic fibrosis.
