‘Dion Chante Plamondon’ showcases Celine’s powerful voice as she interprets songs of Luc Plamondon, famous French-Canadian lyricist. Included on this album are three songs from the fantastic rock-opera, ‘Starmania’, created by Luc Plamondon and his friend Michel Berger. Since then, ‘Starmania’ has been performed in Canada, France, and even Moscow. With this album, you will also discover some of Celine’s biggest French language hits, such as ‘L’amour existe encore’, ‘Un garcon pas comme les autres (Ziggy)’ and ‘Je danse dans ma tête’. This album was certified gold the same day it was released and became Celine’s first French-language album to be released worldwide.
World Music Awards Monaco 2007
On November 4, 2007, Celine Dion participated in the 2007 World Music Awards, held at the Sporting Club in Monte Carlo, Monaco. Celine also performed her new single "Taking Chances".
Celine Dion received the highest accolade, the Legend Award, at a gala in Monte Carlo on Sunday night. Prince Albert II, who presented the honor, said Dion's voice "soothes the world's hearts and creates smiles of love across the face of the world."
Celine Dion, who recalled her start as the youngest performer among 14 musical siblings, dedicated the award to her family. "Every time I go on stage, it's all of them going on stage with me," she said.
