Celine Dion, Hugh Jackman, Keith Urban & More to Honour John Farnham at Tribute Concert This Year.

Celine Dion, Hugh Jackman and Keith Urban are just a few names that will perform at a tribute concert honouring Australian music legend, John Farnham, this year

The Songs of John Farnham: A Living Legend will go ahead on September 20th at Rod Laver Arena, with funds raised from the concert to go towards Head and Neck Cancer Australia, which supported Farnham during his own battle in recent years.

Other names expected to perform, reportedly personally invited by Farnham, include Jimmy Barnes, Tina Arena, Richard Marx, Human Nature and Jessica Mauboy.

The show will officially be announced at the venue later this morning by Paul Dainty. Tickets go on sale from 10am on Tuesday, June 2nd.

“I’ve been incredibly lucky to spend my life doing what I love, and even luckier to have Australians embrace my music the way they have,” Farnham said.

“This (tribute concert) isn’t about me — it’s about giving something back and supporting a cause that means a great deal to me.

“The fact that so many extraordinary artists from around the world have so generously agreed to be part of this night is incredibly humbling and says far more about the spirit behind this event than it does about me. I hope everyone has a great night.”

Céline Dion Family TV Series In The Works

EXCLUSIVE: A TV drama chronicling the early life of Céline Dion and family is in the works.

Growing Up Dion [working title] marks the first time the “My Heart Will Go On” singer’s family has formally supported a dramatized adaptation of her childhood, with her brother Jacques Dion producing and the show based on Dion, A Family Saga, written by her nephew Jimmy Dion.

Zoë Green (Sirens, Carnival Row) is showrunning the project, which traces Dion’s childhood in Quebec and formative years growing up in a modest, music-filled household, where her bond with her mother Thérèse and close-knit dynamic of 14 sibling relationships shaped her path to global superstardom. The project, which comes from LA’s Diamant Rouge Entertainment, is being taken out now to international buyers.

Jacques Dion said: “This series represents something deeply meaningful for our family, as it captures the spirit, struggles, and love that defined our upbringing. We are proud to finally share this story with the world in a way that feels true to who we are.”

Casting is to come and thoughts will naturally turn to who will portray Dion. She was previously played by Valérie Lemercier in 2021 musical comedy-drama Aline and Christine Ghawi in 2008’s Céline. She has also been portrayed by the Tony-nominated Marla Mindelle in Broadway jukebox musical Titanique, a Titanic parody which retells the movie’s events from Dion’s perspective.
