During its 38th annual Gala on October 30th, the Association québécoise de l’industrie du disque, du spectacle et de la vidéo (@adisq) posthumously honor René Angélil with a Félix, thus recognizing one of the best producers and impresarios to ever come from Québec. L’ADISQ AWARDS A POSTHUMOUS HONORARY FÉLIX TROPHY TO RENÉ ANGÉLIL

As part of 38th Gala presented next Sunday, October 30, the Association québécoise de l’industrie du disque, du spectacle et de la vidéo (ADISQ) will present a posthumous honorary Félix to one of the greatest producers and impresarios in Québec history, René Angélil. Céline has confirmed that she will attend the gala to accept the honorary Félix on his behalf.

Mr. Angelil was awarded a Félix Hommage in 1996, exactly 20 years ago. L’ADISQ would like to once again recognize his extraordinary contribution to Québec’s showbusiness industry by presenting him posthumously with its highest honour. A man of tremendous talent, determination and vision, Mr. Angelil brought honour and glory to the role of an impresario, inspiring everyone in our industry to Dream Big.


Hosted by Louis-José Houde, the Gala de l'ADISQ is the major annual event recognizing those artists who have left their mark on the year’s music; it will be presented in Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier, Place des Arts of Montréal, and broadcast by ICI Radio-Canada Télé and on the web, starting at 7:30 p.m.

"I went waaaaaaay back in the archives tonight for #tbt to that time I shot a very young @celinedion for #theShirleyShow on @ctv_television. I remember congratulating her on her wedding announcement (which means this was 1992) and how soft spoken and kind she was to let some kid like me fresh out of art school take her picture .....I know they look like Sears portraits but what the hell did I know at that point ...I was certainly no @floriasigismondi lol !! Now 25 years later René is gone, she has 3 kids and definitely qualifies as an #icon and #superstar in my books! Anyways I've always had a soft spot for #Celine ever since and although I'm not the biggest fan of her music I think she has not deserved the bashing she's gotten over the years .... I do believe she has a good heart and cares about her family and her fans a lot ....
