Celine's second English language album, simply titled 'Celine Dion,' was by far her most accomplished recording to date with selections from such notable songwriters as Diane Warren (Cher, Gloria Estefan, Linda Ronstadt) and Prince, who wrote the ballad "With This Tear" especially for Celine. The album was recorded in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Morin Heights, Quebec between October 1991 and February of 1992.
This is the album that prompted the Wall Street Journal to proclaim Celine Dion's voice as a "once-in-a-generation voice."
'Celine Dion' contains 13 songs including "Beauty and the Beast" and "Halfway To Heaven," which features the trademark saxophone of Kenny G. The material covers the musical spectrum ranging from the powerful gospel-tinged drive of "Love Can Move Mountains," to the sparkling funk of "Little Bit of Love," to the haunting ballads of "Nothing Broken But My Heart" and "Show Some Emotion."
