Woman Of The Year - Nevada Ballet Theatre 2004

January 24th, 2004, Nevada Ballet Theatre honored Celine Dion as the Woman of the Year at the annual Black and White Ball. The event took place at Caesars Palace and was headed by Jacqueline Juliano, wife of Mark Juliano, president of Caesars Palace.

Celine Dion and Stevie Wonder

On January 22, 1977, the legendary Stevie Wonder reached #1 on the Billboard chart with his song "I Wish," the first single released from his multi-platinum album “Songs in the Key of Life." In 2003 Celine performed "I Wish” in her show "A New Day". Her interpretation is included on the album 'A New Day...Live in Las Vegas.'

With her new show in Las Vegas in 2011, Celine sang the song “Overjoyed” as a duet with a virtual Stevie Wonder seated at the piano. They later recorded this previously unreleased song for her 2013 album 'Loved Me Back to Life'. Celine has always admired Stevie Wonder, so it was with great honor that she recorded one of his songs.

Ceine had the great privilege of meeting this celebrated musician at various award ceremonies and benefit concerts, such as "Pavarotti and Friends" in June 1998 or the "America: A Tribute to Heroes" telethon in September 2001.

Celine Dion "Immortality"(Let's Talk About Love 1997)

"Immortality" is the third song on 'Let's Talk About Love' and is written by Barry Gibb and the BeeGees. The BeeGees also lend backing vocals to this beautiful, airy ballad that will touch the hearts of many. The song was produced by Walter A. at the Hit Factory in New York City. 

"Immortality" has two versions of music videos. The first one, directed by Scott Floyd Lochmus, shows Dion and the BeeGees in the recording studio in 1997. It was included as a bonus on the Au cœur du stade DVD. The second one was directed by Randee St. Nicholas and released at the end of July 1998. This more elaborate video deals with themes of love, loss and reincarnation, with a cameo from the BeeGees themselves.

The song was a commercial success reaching number 2 in Austria and Germany, number 4 in Europe, number 5 in the United Kingdom, and number 8 in Switzerland. In Brazil, the Cuca mixes became very popular. "Immortality" was certified platinum in Germany (for over 500,000 copies sold),gold in Sweden (15,000), and silver in France (145,000) and the UK (200,000) .

The live version of this song was included on the One Night Only CD and DVD by the Bee Gees, released on November 3, 1998. Dion also performed this song during her Let's Talk About Love Tour. The song was performed also on British TV programme Top of the Pops on July 1998.

Celine and the late Michael Jackson

After Michael Jackson’s passing, Celine performed his favorite song, “Smile” by Charlie Chaplin, in a special tribute during the 2011 Oscars. When asked why it was important to her to honour Michael, she said: "He changed my life. I saw him on TV and I wanted to sing in English because he was, so and I went to learn English and met with him and I (sang) with him and he came to see the show and he had a big impact on my life".
