Celine’s New Albums

 

During April and May, Celine began recording songs for her next English and French CDs which will be released later this year. The French CD will feature all new material and the English CD will feature studio versions of previously unreleased songs from her Las Vegas show, as well as several brand new songs. "We do a lot of songs in the show that I've never recorded before, and people are always asking for these when they visit our Boutique, so it's great that we'll finally have these recorded.” Celine added, "I've also received some amazing new songs that I'm very excited about", and eventually we hope to put one or two of these into the show." We can’t wait! Until then, you can see Celine perform in Las Vegas this summer.

Celine Dion admits 'Titanic' song could make her sick, too

Visitors to Las Vegas may have been wondering what could have happened to Celine Dion that would require her to cancel five weeks of shows. Here's the answer, as the Grammy-winning songstress told TODAY's Savannah Guthrie on Monday: She had a virus that affected her vocal cords.  

"It was just choppy a little bit," said Dion. And while her heart may go on, her voice wouldn't let her go on -- so she had to make that difficult decision to stay off stage for a bit. "It's hard to do a show, but it's much harder to cancel the show. We disappointed a lot of people. It was hard."

 There's one person out there, however, who was probably happy with a little less of Dion's "My Heart Will Go On," a song that won an Oscar after being featured in "Titanic" -- Kate Winslet. In March, the actress said the tune made her feel like "throwing up." But Dion took the criticism in stride -- and even admitted to some empathy with Winslet's statement.

 "'My Heart Will Go On' gave me the opportunity to be associated with a classic that will live forever," she said. "If I just count how many times I've sung it, maybe it'll get me sick. If she feels tired just hearing it, and, like, throwing up, I'm glad she was not the one singing it."

 For now, Dion is back from her break, and even has a new song, "Didn't Know Love." She said that no matter what happens to her voice, though, that is not what defines her. "I don't depend on my vocal cords," she said. "I don't depend on my success and my singing. Don't get me wrong. I love what I do. But I don't hold on to that. When you have children (Dion has three with husband Rene Angelil -- and notes that her 11-year-old son is more of a fan of Eminem than his mother's music), you have accomplished a lot."

The love theme from Titanic and one of Celine’s biggest hits "My Heart Will Go On" found on her 'Let’s Talk About Love' album is the only English-language song by a female artist to hit number one on the Latin Songs chart. The song also topped the Billboard Top 100, Radio Songs, Hot Single Sales, Pop Songs, Adult-Contemporary and Latin Pop Songs charts.

Celine Dion Perform at Walmart Shareholders Meeting(1.6.2012)

Celine was the closing act at the annual Walmart shareholders meeting in Arkansas on Friday, and brought down the house with her songs “The Power of Love,” “Love Can Move Mountains” and “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now.”  For “Love Can Move Mountains,” she was joined by two choral groups: The Arkansas Gospel Mass Choir and the Walmart Associate Choir.

Celine also praised Walmart for supporting her over the past 20 years, giving a special shout-out to Walmart store #2050 in Henderson, Nevada.  She said she often goes there after her Las Vegas shows to stock up on essentials.  Celine will return to her show in Las Vegas on June 9.

 The shareholders meeting, which is always a star-studded event, was hosted by Justin Timberlake, and also included a performance by Lionel Richie.  Taylor Swift performed as well, but her set wasn’t included on the webcast of the event at the request of her record label.
