Celine Dion "A Mother's Prayer" (Miracle 2004/Oprah Show 2004)

A Mother's Prayer
I pray you'll be my eyes
and watch her where she goes
and help her to be wise
help me to let go
every mother's prayer
every child knows
lead her to a place
guide her with your grace
to a place where she'll be safe
I pray she finds your light
and holds it in her heart
as darkness falls each night
we mind her where you are
every mother's prayer
every child knows
need to find a place
guide her to a place
give her faith so she'll be safe
lead her to a place
guide her with your grace
to a place where she'll be safe

Céline Dion - On Traverse Un Mirroir Revisited

"On traverse un miroir" was the first single from Celine’s ’Incognito’ album, released 25 years ago. This song was a huge success for Céline. A video was especially made for a television special dedicated to ‘Incognito’ which aired in September 1987.
Qu'est-ce qui se passe
Quand on est lasse
Quand le coeur a perdu ses couleurs
Une émotion
Comme une invitation
À chanter sans aucune raison
Tout ça pour un regard ou deux
Un sourire qui tremble un peu
C'est l'amour, c'est l'accident
On sent passer le courant

Refrain:

Refrain

Céline Dion Canada's Walk of Fame (1999)

Pop superstar Céline Dion was born in Charlemagne, Que., a rural town located nearly 50 kilometres from Montréal. She is the youngest of 14 children. She began performing at the very young age of five with her siblings at her parents' piano bar, entertaining the local area patrons on weekends. When she was just 12 years old, Céline composed a song with the aid of her brother and mother. The demo she made of it was noticed by René Angélil, now Céline's manager-husband. René was so convinced of Céline's abilities he actually mortgaged his house in order to record her debut album.

In 1982 she was awarded the Gold Medal and the Musician's Award for top performer at the Yamaha World Song Festival in Tokyo. Her first albums, recorded in French, gained her wide acclaim, and in 1983 she was the first Canadian ever to receive a Gold Record in France. While her albums turned platinum, she received multiple Felix Awards. Then in 1988, Céline took the Eurovision Song Contest by storm in Dublin, Ireland.

Barnyard Musical in Aid of Jes Foord Foundation

An afternoon performance of the musical Rocking All Over the World will be staged at the Barnyard theatre on Saturday to raise funds for the Jes Foord foundation.
The Power of Love by Céline Dion, Careless Whisper by George Michael and Hips Don’t Lie by Shakira will be among the hit songs from 12 countries that audiences can look forward to.
“The show will be like a plane that will take audiences ‘all over the world’ through music, with a comical air hostess guiding them,” said Justin de Beer, general manager of the foundation.
Tickets cost R135 and funds raised will go towards counselling rape survivors.
Foord became a heroine to many in SA when she established the Jes Foord Foundation in 2009 after she was gang raped by four men. She went public to highlight the added trauma that victims went through after they were attacked.
The foundation helped to educate people, raise community awareness, lobby on issues about rape, and to assist, support and empower rape survivors and their families and friends.
The show starts at 2pm. – Daily News Reporter

Céline's Style Evolution

Stylist.com takes a look back at Celine’s evolving style with a slideshow showing Celine’s changing look during the course of her career. Which Celine look do you like most? Have you ever tried to replicate one of her looks?
When most people think of Celine Dion, the melody to "My Heart Will Go On" comes to mind. The power ballad from the 1997 film "Titantic" is without a doubt the singer's biggest hit and propelled her into international superstardom.
The Canadian native started performing at an early age with her siblings in her family's piano bar. At 12, she co-penned her first French song and caught the attention of music manager René Angélil. Though 26 years her senior, they went on to marry. Having quickly amassed a huge following thanks to successful French-language records, she released her first English album "Unison" in 1990, following up with her 1992 duet with Peabo Bryson on the "Beauty and the Beast" soundtrack.
In 1999, the Grammy and Oscar Award-winning singer took a temporary hiatus to care for her ailing husband who had been diagnosed with throat cancer. And with Angéli's successful recovery, the two welcomed their first son René-Charles in 2001. Dion has since released more chart-topping albums, performed sold-out shows at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and given birth to fraternal twin sons, Eddy and Nelson -- proving she can balance showbiz and motherhood.
As Dion celebrates her 44th birthday on March 30th, we're taking a look back at the songstress' style. Vote on all her looks in the slideshow below and check out her fairy tale bridal moment.

Her Own Words

“When I look at myself in the past, I get very emotional.” “I worked really hard, and I surpassed myself…. I didn’t have, visually, what it took. I was not pretty, I had teeth problems, and I was very skinny. I didn’t fit the mold.”- Céline Dion
