On April 30, 2006, Celine Dion made an appearance via satellite from Las Vegas in the Gala Artis, led by François Morency and broadcast live on TVA. The gala was known in previous years as the Gala Metrostar. Celine sang live for Michel Jasmin "L'amour existe encore", which has been a very emotional tribute trophy, who had never received a trophy in this kind of gala. Celine also sang "Tout près du bonheur" with her son in law, Marc Dupré.

On April 30, 1988, Celine Dion won the 33rd Eurovision Song Contest, which took place at the RDS Simmonscourt Pavilion, Dublin, Ireland, with the song "Ne partez pas sans moi". Céline represented Switzerland for this contest.
After the contest, Celine gave a small press conference to talk about her victory. She was photographed holding the trophy with the authors of the song, Atilla Şereftuğ and Nella Martinetti.
