Celine Dion's new French-language album is translating into big
numbers, setting the stage for her first English-language album in 5½
years .Sony executives are gathering in Las Vegas on Wednesday
during the Consumer Electronics Show to finalize plans for the April
release of the English-language album, which was recorded at the Palms
and in Florida.
The album title will be settled at the meeting, said Rene Angelil, Dion's husband and business manager.
"We have a few titles in mind," he said.
Sales for Dion's last English-language album, "Taking Chances," topped 1 million.Sales for "Sans Attendre" have surged past 1 million since its Nov. 2 release by Columbia Records. Dion was in Paris last month to promote it.Selling 1 million French-language albums is "absolutely amazing," at a time when it's hard to sell records, Angelil said.
