Celine Dion : D'eux 1995

D'eux' features twelve songs written and produced by Jean-Jacques Goldman, the best-selling French recording artist since the inception of his solo career in the early '80s. The tracks from this French-language collection by Celine incorporate influences ranging from Continental pop and folk music to cool jazz and '70s soul. "The making of 'D'eux' was a very special occasion for me," says Celine.

"Singing in French represents a return to my roots, but the music is as eclectic and adventurous as any I have ever recorded."

The opening title track and first video, "Pour que tu m'aimes encore," evokes Marvin Gaye's classic "Sexual Healing" with its gently ticking electronic percussion and sensual groove. "Le ballet" is surprisingly bluesy groove, with percussive finger snaps, harmonica and electric guitar guiding Celine's intimate vocal performance. Minor chords and a progressive-rock feel underscore the emotive ballad "Je sais pas."

"I only hope that the public will enjoy listening to this album as much as I enjoyed making it."
