Celine Dion - I Drove All Night(A New Day...Live in Las Vegas 2007)

This was the first single from Celine’s ‘One Heart’ album, released in 2003. Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly wrote “I Drove All Night” for Roy Orbison, who recorded it in 1987 but didn’t release it that year. In 1989, Cyndi Lauper recorded and released her version of the song and Roy Orbison’s rendition was finally released in 1992. Celine’s 2003 version made this song a huge hit, reaching the number one position in many countries. Did you know that in the second verse Celine added a word to the song? Instead of singing “no matter where I go I hear the beating of our heart”, she sings “our one heart”!

I had to escape, the city was sticky and cruel
Maybe I should have called you first, but I was dying
to get to you
I was dreaming while I drove the long, straight road ahead...uh-huh, yeah
Could taste your sweet kisses, your arms open wide
This fever for you was just burning me up inside
I drove all night to get to you
Is that all right?
I drove all night, crept in your room
Woke you from your sleep to make love to you
Is that all right?
I drove all night
What in this world keeps us from falling apart?
No matter where I go I hear the beating of our one heart
I think about you when the night is cold and dark...
uh-huh, yeah
No one can move me the way that you do
Nothing erases this feeling between me and you
I drove all night to get to you
Is that all right?
I drove all night, crept in your room
Woke you from your sleep to make love to you
Is that all right?
I drove all night
I taste your sweet kisses, your arms open wide
This fever for you was just burning me up inside
I drove all night to get to you
Is that all right?
I drove all night, crept in your room
Woke you from your sleep to make love to you
Is that all right?
I drove all night
