Interview with Celine Dion

You return with a song sober, without pushing the voice. Why?
 Celine Dion. This is a text on my father, I lost eight years ago and he was my biggest fan. I think of him every day. I know he is with me, he looks after my children. I speak with him in my mind, in my box. And, in this case, I do not shout, it's sweet. The piece does not need me to sing "at the end of lungs."
 
Sometimes you're tired of being a singer voice? 
I like both. I did not want to get hoarse all the time. I like being able to deliver the goods vocally, but I also like a more restrained emotion.

How do you critics, like Kate Winslet, star of "Titanic," who said not to support your song for the film? 
You can not please everyone. I am delighted to have sung the song of "Titanic," which became a classic. Kate Winslet does not upset me.

 Your voice has been playing tricks on you in recent months. What happened?

In March, I had a virus like. Everyone was sick at home, my husband Rene, children. With drugs, they would all be better off, except me. I could not sing. Then I saw a specialist in Los Angeles who diagnosed a virus lodged in a vocal cord, which

caused a minor paralysis. My voice is finally back, after three weeks.

You were afraid?
 No, not at all. I do not abuse, I do not drink, I do not do drugs, I do not go. And then my life is not only based on my songs. I have my husband, my children. I am a mother, not a song.

A few weeks ago, France 3 broadcast a documentary where you were hiding little of your life. Why? 
This is my way of being an open book. This has always been natural to relate my fears, illnesses, difficulties of having a child, my husband's battle against cancer Rene. I also always shared my private life. I feel that more people know my story when they see me. This is related perhaps to the fact that I come from a large family and we always shared everything
. 
How is your family?
 All right. My older son Rene-Charles was 11, he is very athletic. He plays baseball, golf, table tennis, basketball, some football. He wants to be athlete. My twins, Nelson and Eddy, have 20 months, and we are madly in love.

 In your next record, there is a virtual duet with Henry Salvador ... 
Mr. Salvador had expressed the desire to make a song as a duet with me. His wife offered us this song already existed. I did not hesitate. For the record, I followed his emotion, his magical voice, like a big dance.

 Do you plan concerts in France?
 I so wish, even if nothing is scheduled yet. I am in contract to Las Vegas for several years, but I also have periods of no concerts. So we'll see.
