Get ready for more Celine Dion! While she has been making headlines as of late for her fashion choices, the Canadian icon is first and foremost a singer. The studio is calling her name and according to Celine, she is ready to get back in the booth to make her first English album since 2013’s Loved Me Back to Life.
“My next big project for the fall will be recording my new English album. I’m very, very excited. That’s going to be released in 2018, probably during the fall, could be sooner, I hope! I don’t know, but I can’t wait,” revealed the 49-year-old at the launch of her new handbag collection in Montreal on Aug 23.2017
The mother of three is also enjoying some down time before she has to go back to work. After an incredible Eurotour (which garnered her a fashion icon title) this past summer, the mother of three is taking a well-deserved break to spend time with her family in her home province of Québec, she shared, “We’re having a good time, we’re going outside. It’s so wonderful to be home, and in September we’ll go back to Las Vegas,” she continued, “My show at [Caesar’s Palace] starts up again on September 19, so we’ll freshen up a few things here and there.”
At the handbag launch, Celine continued her sartorial streak on home soil, looking sharp and sophisticated in a stunning coral Lanvin dress with a pink scarf. She greeted her adoring fans before heading inside the store to give a spirited interview with members of the media.
Celine’s goal was to create a line of bags that are functional for the everyday woman. The singer shared, “Handbags and accessories are a big part of the statement you make, whether you’re going to work, going to dinner, going out on the town, so I really wanted to be involved in creating a collection that would be bold, feminine, sophisticated, and one that would address the needs of working women and moms, like me.”
Unsurprisingly, this fashion icon and musical powerhouse is super involved in the design and production of her handbag collection with Bugatti Group. The “My Heart Will Go On” singer spoke proudly about her designs, saying, “I am very involved, actually. It starts, for example, by them showing me inspiration boards for the collection and we discuss back and forth,” she said, continuing, “Then they’ll create samples of each piece for me to review. I touch and feel the things and, from that point, they’ll tweak the product and then it’s off to production.”
