The government Couillard will communicate with the family of René Angélil to offer him a state funeral.
"We are very open to offer a state funeral if they wish," said the press secretary of the Prime Minister, Harold Fortin.
"By accepting the government's offer, the family gives the opportunity to a large number of Quebecers to pay tribute to the deceased. By entrusting coordination of the funeral to the Protocol, the government relieves the grieving family for organizing such a funeral, "it said on the government website.
